This Mini Art Quilt contains 14 different fabrics in a patchwork collage
around the two central images of the giraffe and the turtle. I've quilted it in
half a dozen different colors of thread, and there are 9 different colors of
thread around the edge, which binds the layers of the postcard/quilt together.
Additionally, there are three different kinds of ribbon that add another layer
of interest to the quilt.
The layers include the cotton print fabrics on top, a thin layer of Warm and
Natural cotton batting, a Pellon interfacting and a muslin backing you can
write on with a fabric marker.
This really can go through the mails, as I've sent several recently. A
glassine sleeve helps protect the quilt if you are inclined to mail it, and I
will include this with the quilt.
This particular Mini Art Quilt would look perfect in a nursery or child's
room. It's rich with color and texture and it would look lovely on a small
easel or propped on a shelf, or hung on a wall. It's very lightweight, so a
small sticky-backed hanger would do the trick to hang it.
