"The Isles" form a series of 4 pieces (each listed separately and shown side
by side in the photographs) inspired by the many isles surrounding the UK and
Ireland from the Isles of Scilly off the Cornish Coast to the Outer Hebrides,
Scottish Isles and the beautiful Isles dotted around Ireland's spectacular
coast . Using only handout sheet glass, no frits, no powders, no enamels, only
the simple cuts, shapes and colours of the glass to form the beautiful Iines of
the coast, beaches and isles. Mounted on an handmade white board with standoffs
to allow light to travel behind the glass. There are fixings attached to the
reverse to allow the piece to be wall mounted.

A unique piece of artisan glasswork handmade by me. As such, please expect
some minor variances to the photograph.

Our family home was at the beautiful Harlyn Bay, Cornwall overlooking the
beach and out over the ocean waves to Gulland Rock. I now live a few steps from
the beach where my Irish home looks out over the Wild Atlantic Coast of
Northern Ireland towards the shores of The Mull of Kintyre and the Scottish
Isles. Walking daily the unspoilt white sand beaches, glens and natural local
woodland around my Irish home and returning to my Cornish roots and Cornwall as
often as I can to do the same, I find lots of inspiration for my glasswork from
the beautiful surroundings.

I use Bullseye’s finest glass, fired in a kiln for several days and then
reworked and re-fired a number of times to achieve the final result. Found in
Fused Glass Ocean, Fused Glass Cornwall and Fused Glass Ireland.
