Every season is my favorite in the woods along the shore of Lake Michigan.
This sunrise birch trees was on the Camp Trail, a trail at Arcadia Dunes
Preserve. It is a part of the land protected by Grand Traverse Regional Land
Conservancy where I lead hikes and am a steward. This depicts a spot just off
the trail as the morning sun peeks through. A beautiful, peaceful location
during all seasons but especially in the autumn.

Hundreds of pieces of batik fabric are confetti cut then “painted” on quilt
backing and batting. Fussy cut trees and foliage are added before covering
quilt with tulle. Machine quilting w/invisible thread is completed then
accented w/additional machine quilting. The sun is accented with tiny bits of
metallic fiber for a bit of sparkle.

An eyebrow border outlines the woodland scene before the brown batik fabric
provides a fabric frame for the wall hanging. Perfect wall decor for office or
home.
