This dainty hand painted pillow is an illustration of Aesop's fable of the Fox
and the Grapes. As the story goes,
"The fox spied a beautiful bunch of grapes, ripe and juicy hanging from a
vine. His mouth watered. The Fox jumped and jumped, again and again only to
fall short. As he walked away, exhausted, he exclaimed, What a fool I am,
trying to get a bunch of sour grapes." The moral of the story is there are many
to pretend to despise what is beyond their reach.
This petite pillow is hand sewn antique white vintage linen, hand painted and
spray fixed to maintain the bright colors. It measures 7 inches square and is 3
inches thick. It weighs 6 ounces. I have included a cord to attach with tiny
safety pins if you wish to hang your pillow. This charming little pillow would
make a unique one of a kind accent to your farmhouse decor or a cute note in a
baby's room.
