This is a tatted doily you would be ordering. It would be the same size shown
here for the doily.
I will go up to 12" x 12" size doily for the price shown. Any sizes bigger
than what I have please hit the custom order button. If you have questions
please let me know.
The design would be exactly what you would see in the picture except for the
border color on the diamond doily. In picture 1 it would not have a border
unless you want it on and for the pictures 1 and 5 the doilies can be made in
an off white (natural color) or in white. I do have it as an option but if you
are confused, just ask. They will be made the same size as it is in the picture
but if you want it bigger you will have to go to custom order and do that. It
might take up to four to five weeks to make one. If you have any questions feel
free to ask I will be happy to answer any questions.
If you have any questions about the doilies feel free to ask. I can make them
as big as you want them if you want a custom order. But I can take me a while
to do, but if you need it ASAP then you would have to tell me.
Tatting is not like crocheting even though it looks like it. Tatting can take
a lot longer to do depending on how you do it. For example it can take up to 9
hours to do one Christmas Ball that you can see on this site. Tatting is a form
of lace and is more delicate.
Tatting is considered a lost art and unfortunately not many people know about
it. Actually it was said to date back possibly earlier than Queen Elizabeth 1
and from something that I read that she even tatted. If you go to the Betsy
Ross House you will find a tatting shuttle on display. There are a few forms of
tatting: Shuttle Tatting, Needle Tatting, Celtic Tatting, and Japanese Hook
Tatting, and etc. I do the shuttle tatting. My Grandma (1931-2014) taught me to
tat before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
