Beautiful, highly detailed, vintage crewel embroidery of a peaceful country
scene featuring a white church and barn with red roofs, a stream with a stone
bridge, a white birch tree, flowers, grasses and pine trees, and rolling hills
in the distance. It reminds me of a serene New England spring landscape. The
fabric is light blue, which is left unembroidered for the sky. The rest of the
picture is covered in tight, small stitches. This must have taken a very long
time to complete. If you peek under the lower portion of the frame, you can see
the initials "MJ" (I think!) handwritten under the crewel work. Professionally
framed in a wood frame marked Hecho En Mexico on the back, ready to hang with a
wire. There are some light stains on the white fabric part of the frame, and
some minor chips to the edges of the wood frame.
